Being a teenage can be stressful for everyone involved. Not quite an adult, but feeling like an adult; more complicated social relationships; new stressors; it can be a lot for a teen to handle.

Resilience

It can be hard work and there will be things they can’t do now, but they’ll learn with mental resilience that they can meet any challenge and overcome it.

Discipline

Muay Thai and Boxing are incredible cathartic to get out a lot of that stress and frustration most people feel during their teens. Learning new skills helps them feel like they have more autonomy over their life.

Camaraderie

They also get social time, in a safe environment, away from screens while getting in physical exercise (which helps them sleep better and has been shown in studies to improve academic performance), and helps reduce the chance of diabetes as well as depression.

What’s great about Muay Thai and Boxing is that it isn’t mindless exercise. It’s exercise with a purpose, and studies have shown that helps keep the brain healthy more than simply running on a treadmill. Many teens aren’t big fans of exercise, a lot of gym classes have made it feel more like a chore, by introducing them to something exciting like martial arts they will learn that exercise doesn’t need to be a chore.
